Transport Canada Recall - 2019528 -
Brand(s)
Summary
Affected products
2019 | LODE KING | STEP DECK TRAILER, 2020 | LODE KING | STEP DECK TRAILER
Issue
On certain tridem axle trailers, the parking brake may be slower to apply than what is allowed by Canadian regulations. Additionally, the service brakes on some trailers with a 72” axle spread may release more slowly than what is allowed by the regulations.
Safety risk
Delayed parking brake application could result in unintended vehicle movement. Delayed release of the service brakes could affect brake performance and vehicle stability. Either could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective actions
Lode King will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their trailer to a dealer for an inspection of the air brake system. If the trailer is not fitted with a quick release valve for the parking brake, one will be added near the rear of the trailer. Additionally, trailers with a 72" axle spread will have a quick release gladhand valve added to the service brake line at the front of the trailer.
