Issue

On certain vehicles, the starter lock-out relay could be damaged over time, causing it to fail. If this happens, it will not be possible to start the engine. Note: A possible symptom of a damaged starter lock-out relay is a truck that requires multiple attempts to start.

Safety risk

An emergency vehicle with an engine that cannot be started could increase the risk of injury in an emergency situation.

Corrective actions

E-One will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a service center to install a relay and diode kit.
