Issue

Issue: On one van, an issue with the braking system could cause increased brake pedal travel. It could also cause a malfunction of the Anti-lock Braking (ABS) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) systems. As a result, stopping distance could be extended. Safety Risk: An ABS / ESP system malfunction and an extended stopping distance could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify the owner by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealership to replace the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit.
