Issue

Issue:
On certain school buses, the engine flex plate / torque converter bolts may not be tightened correctly. This could allow the bolts break or fall into the transmission bell housing. As a result, the flex plate could be damaged or the started could be blocked. This could cause the school bus to be disabled.

Safety Risk:
A bus that is disabled could result in an evacuation in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury.

Corrective Actions:
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their bus to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and repair the flex plate / torque converter bolts, as required.
