Transport Canada Recall - 2019396 - BMW

Issue:
On certain 745Le xDrive plug-in hybrid models, there may be no audible seat belt warning sound when the vehicle is started. This warning is provided to remind the driver to buckle their seat belt. Canadian regulations require this warning at vehicle start-up.

Safety Risk:
An unbelted driver could have a greater risk of injury in a crash.

Corrective Actions:
BMW will notify its dealers and repair the cars before they are delivered to the first owner. The software for the Electronic Control Unit will be updated to correct this problem.
