Issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the brake pedal clevis pin clip may contact the throttle pedal mount. This could cause the clip to detach and allow the pin to slide out of position. If this happens, there will initially be a loss of brake lights. If the pin continues to slide out further, the brake pedal may become detached, requiring an increase in pedal effort to stop the vehicle Safety Risk: A sudden increase in brake pedal force could lead to an increase in stopping distance. If the brake lights do not work, a following driver may not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking. Both of these conditions could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facility to replace the throttle pedal assembly. This will provide clearance for the brake clevis pin clip. Additionally, for some vehicles, the brake clevis pin will be repositioned.
