Issue:
On certain vehicles, the steering shaft may not have been properly manufactured. This could cause it to separate and cause a loss of steering control.
Safety Risk:
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, replace the steering column assembly.
