Issue:
On certain fifth-wheel trailers, incorrect bolts were used to install the fuel tank. If the tank is not properly attached, it could separate from the trailer and create a fuel leak.
Safety Risk:
Leaking fuel in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, if the fuel tank separates from the trailer, it could also create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the six bolts that secure the fuel tank brace. Any incorrect bolts will be replaced as required.
