Issue

On certain vehicles, the pinch bolt connecting the upper steering shaft may not have been properly tightened during assembly. If the bolt were to loosen and come out, it could result in complete loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the pinch bolt on the upper steering shaft. If the bolt is found loose, the steering shaft splines will be inspected for abnormal wear and the steering shaft will be replaced as required.
