On certain vehicles, water could enter and cause corrosion to the wiring connectors in the rear liftgate wiring harness and the liftgate-opening switches. This could cause an unintended activation and opening of the rear liftgate door, potentially resulting in a loss of unrestrained cargo. Lost cargo may create a hazard for other road users, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will install additional sealing protection to the rear liftgage wiring connectors and switches to prevent water intrusion.
