Issue
On certain street sweeper vehicles, cracks may form around the tipping hinges. If left unchecked, cracks around the tipping hinges could result in the hopper detaching from the chassis, particularly if the sweeper is overloaded. If the hopper were to detach from chassis, it could possibly strike the operator or bystander, causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect around the tipping brackets for damage or cracking, and will install a reaction beam to increase the torsional stiffness of the body and stabilize the tipping pivot brackets.
