Issue
On certain vehicles, the Cell Voltage Sensor (CVS) could incorrectly interpret electrical noise, which could cause the vehicle to switch to a fail-safe Electric Vehicle (EV) mode. If this were to occur while driving at highway speed, the internal combustion engine would shut off and the vehicle would experience a sudden loss of power, and the maximum speed limited to about 60 km/h. In fail-safe EV mode, visual and audible warnings would be displayed, and the vehicle may be able to travel for up to three kilometers before the high voltage battery discharges. If the battery were to completely discharge while the vehicle is still in operation, the vehicle will stall, resulting in a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the CVS software.
