Issue

On certain vehicles, steel brake pad shims may corrode and swell upon exposure to road de-icing chemicals and/or road salt. This could result in extended brake pedal travel when applying the brakes, potentially affecting stopping distances and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace steel brake pad shims with stainless steel ones.
