Issue
On certain vehicles originally sold in or currently operated in areas of heavy road salt usage during winter months (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador), the driver’s door module could short circuit and fail. An electrical short could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will test the driver’s window and door lock switches for proper operation. If the switches function correctly, a protective coating will be applied to the door module. If the switches do not function properly, the door module will be replaced.
