Product description
This recall involves the toe components of certain models of Salomon-, Atomic-, and Tecnopro-branded ski bindings.

The ski binding models subject to this recall were manufactured from July 2008 to October 2008. The date code corresponding to the date of manufacture is stamped on the product where the toe of a ski boot contacts the toe piece of the binding. All recalled bindings have a date code ending with 8 (for 2008).
Hazard identified
The toe component may not fully secure the ski boot into the binding in certain circumstances, causing the binding to release inadvertently and posing a fall risk to the user.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these ski bindings.
Number sold
Approximately 7,690 units of the recalled ski bindings were sold by authorized Salomon, Atomic, and Tecnopro dealers across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from August 2008 to October 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Romania.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ski bindings or skis with the recalled bindings. Consumers should bring their bindings to an authorized Salomon, Atomic, or INTERSPORT authorized ski dealer to receive a free replacement of the toe components.
