Product description
This recall involves Tippmann A-5 Paintball Markers by Tippmann Sports LLC with serial numbers 0409301 to 0422200. The serial number can be found on the packaging accompanying each marker and is also engraved on the left side of the marker near the front grip.
Serial numbers ending with an "R" have already been repaired and are not included in this recall.
Hazard identified
The end cap assembly on the rear of the A-5 paintball markers can break and eject during use, posing a risk of injury to the operator.
Tippmann Sports has received three reports of the end cap assembly breaking, ejecting and hitting the operator. One minor injury has been reported.
Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries or incidents related to the use of these paintball markers.
Number sold
Approximately 1,447 of the recalled products were sold in various stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from May 2008 to February 2009.
