Product description
This recall involves the Tera Gear Anywhere Tabletop Grill distributed by Loblaw Companies Limited.
The recalled grill is an 11,000 BTU propane gas stainless steel grill that measures 50.5 centimetres (19.9 inches) long by 25.4 centimetres (10 inches) wide by 40 centimetres (15.8 inches) high. The grill is elevated by two stainless steel supports, has a stainless steel handle and has the Tera Gear logo marked on the front above the latch that locks the grill closed.
Hazard identified
The grill operating temperatures pose a potential risk of fire when used above combustible surfaces. These affected products were not tested or certified by CSA Group and bear unauthorized CSA certification marks on the packaging and the instruction manual. There are no CSA markings on the grill.
Health Canada, CSA Group and Loblaw Companies Limited are not aware of any incidents of injury or fire involving this grill.
Number sold
Approximately 600 of the recalled grills were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled grills were sold from March 4, 2012 to May 11, 2012.
Place of origin
Manufacturered in China.
