Product description

This recall involves Talon Hunting Hang-on Tree Stands with Brackets/Straps by Summit Treestands. A safety label sewn onto the bracket reads "Treestand Strap Assembly".

The tree stands can be identified by the following model numbers and UPC:

  • Osprey RS 82041 (UPC 7 1694382041 3)
  • Falcon RS 82042 (UPC 7 1694382042 0)
  • Hawk RS 82043 (UPC 7 1694382043 7)
  • Eagle RS 82044 (UPC 7 1694382044 4).

Model information is printed on the tree stand warning label that is sewn onto the seat.

Hazard identified

The tree stand can unexpectedly detach from the tree when the brackets fail, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

The firm in the United States has received four reports of the brackets failing, resulting in reports of falls and injuries including broken bones.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these tree stands.

Number sold

Approximately 66 of the recalled tree stands were sold at retail stores in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from February 2009 to August 2009.

Place of origin

Manufactured in the United States of America.
