Hazard identified
The recalled products do not meet the child-resistant packaging requirements for consumer chemical products required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
The cap can be opened without having to engage the child-resistant mechanism. This could result in unintentional exposure to the product and lead to serious illness, injury or death.
As of February 8, 2019, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
Number sold
Approximately 3480 units of Klenk's Sol-V, 7356 units of Klenk's Super Sol-V and 5329 units of Klenk's Mineral Spirits were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from June 2014 to February 2019.
