Product description
This recall involves youth mountain bicycles sold exclusively at Canadian Tire retail stores. The recalled bicycles bear both Dorel Distribution Canada model number 04SC11XX and Canadian Tire model number 71-155X.

Hazard identified
The pedals of the bike can loosen and detach, posing a fall hazard.
Dorel Distribution Canada has received 5 reported incidents where the pedal detached and the consumer fell, resulting in injuries varying from bruising to an arm fracture.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these bicycles.

Approximately 37,445 of the recalled bicycles were sold at Canadian Tire retail stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from December 2011 to July 2012.
