Product description
This recall involves all Super Clean Cleaner/Degreaser sold by Wakefield Canada Inc. The cleaner/degreaser is sold in a 946 mL (33 oz.) purple plastic container with a black spray pump that has a yellow end.
The recalled product can be identified by item number 0801049 and UPC 07392601049.
Products sold after November 2009 have child-resistant containers and are not included in this recall.
Hazard identified
Health Canada's auditing process has revealed that this product does not meet the labelling and child-resistant container requirements, as required by Canadian law.
The lack of child-resistant container and appropriate warning label could result in unintentional exposure to this product and lead to serious illnesses or injuries.
Neither Health Canada nor Wakefield Canada Inc. has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this product.
Number sold
Approximately 540,000 of the recalled products were sold at Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Wal-mart Canada, Zellers, and various other retail stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from July 2005 to November 2009.
