Product description
This recall involves two models of SunSun Aquarium Power Heads sold by Aquatic Kingdom Inc. The model numbers are JVP-102, which is 13 watts, and JVP-101, which is 6 watts. The power heads are used to move water inside an aquarium.
Hazard identified
The recalled devices are not certified to Canadian standards and have not been evaluated for safety hazards. The power heads pose a risk of electrical shock to users.
Aquatic Kingdom Inc. has received two reports of electrical shocks, with no reported injuries.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this product.
Number sold
Approximately 48 units of the JVP-102 power heads and 36 units of the JVP-101 power heads were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were distributed in January 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
