Product description
This recall involves a set of 9 green decorative candles that were sold by Crate and Barrel. The candles are shaped like succulent plants. The clay pots that hold each candle are arranged in a black wooden crate. Recalled candle sets have the SKU number 557-806 located on the bottom of the crate.
Hazard identified
The candle wax melts quickly and overflows outside the pot where it can ignite, posing serious burn and fire hazards to users.
Crate and Barrel has received one report of the wax igniting, with no reports of injuries or property damage.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these candles.
Number sold
Approximately 90 of the recalled candles were sold in Canada and 5,400 were sold in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from February 2010 to April 2010 in both Canada and the United States, exclusively at Crate and Barrel stores or online at www.crateandbarrel.com.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and return the product to any Crate and Barrel store to obtain a full refund.
Consumers who purchased the recalled candles online should contact Crate and Barrel to arrange to return the candles for a full refund.
