Product description

This recall involves a specific batch of the Step2 Basic Rhythms Xylophone. The product is a toy xylophone with a series of coloured keys and two striker wands.

Date code can be found stamped on the bottom of the product. Only product with this date code stamp is affected.

Hazard identified

Surface paints on some of the coloured keys of the Xylophone contain lead above the allowable limit. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

Neither Health Canada nor Step2 has received any reports of incidents or illnesses to Canadians related to the use of these affected Xylophones.

Approximately 512 units of the affected xylophones were sold at retail outlets across Canada.
