Product description
This recall involves SpeeCo’s fence wire stretchers, with or without a ratchet control, used for gripping and tightening any type of wire.
The black stretcher measures about 12 inches high, 1 inch wide and 32 inches long and has a rubber grip on the lever handle. SpeeCo and model S16111500, S161115TSC or S16112000 is printed on a label on the product packaging.

Hazard identified
A recoiling wire can be released from the stretcher unexpectedly and strike an operator or bystander posing a laceration hazard.
Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of this product in Canada.
SpeeCo has received reports of two incidents where minor cuts, abrasions or scratches have occurred in the US.
Number sold
Approximately 1800 units were sold in Canada at Grand Prairie Feed Service Ltd, Fraser Valley Steel & Wire, Shar-Kare Feeds, the Horse Barn, Princess Auto Limited and Home Hardware stores, and approximately 60,000 units were sold in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from April 2015 to August 2016.

What you should do
Consumer should immediately stop using the fence stretcher and return them to SpeeCo or the place of purchase for a full refund.

Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website.
