Product description

This recall involves Model Year 2018 Specialized-branded Fuse Comp 6Fattie/29 and Fatboy SE bicycles equipped with Stout crankarms. They are entry-level alloy cranks with a direct-mount chainring for general mountain biking use. "Stout" is written on the crankarm.

Hazard identified

The crankarm can disengage and cause the rider to lose control, posing fall and injury hazards.

As of May 11 2018, the company has received no report of incident or injury in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 377 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from June 2017 to May 2018.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles with Stout crankarms and contact an Authorized Specialized Retailer for instructions on how to receive a free replacement crankarm.
