Hazard identified
The brake boss housed within the carbon fork on the specified Specialized bicycles can disengage from the fork and allow the brake assembly to contact the wheel spokes while rotating, posing a fall hazard.
Specialized has received two reports in the United States and one in Canada of the brake boss disengaging from the carbon fork. No injuries were reported.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 3,079 of the recalled products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold in various stores across Canada from June 2010 to August 2011.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Taiwan.

Consumers should immediately stop riding the affected bicycles and return the bicycle to an authorized Specialized retailer for a free replacement fork.
