Product description

This recall involves the Smart AC 120W USB inverter by Wagan® Tech Corporation. The inverter plugs into a 12V DC outlet (or a powered cigarette lighter) and can power other products through a 120V AC outlet.

Recalled USB inverters have an "cETL" marking on the back of the packaging.

Hazard identified

The recalled products have not been evaluated for safety against Canadian standards and bear an unauthorized cETL (Canadian Electrical Testing Labs) mark. The product may pose safety hazards to users.

Neither Health Canada nor Wagan® Tech Corporation has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.

Number sold

Approximately 2,692 of the recalled products were sold at Best Buy and Modern Outpost stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from March 2008 to April 2010.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.
