Product description
This recall involves SunFX WhiteOut Instant Spray-On Tan manufactured by SunFX Group.
The product is packaged in a blue and white pressurized metal container with a spray nozzle and with UPC 9334898000004. Some products may have been sold with blue and white exterior cardboard packaging.
Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that this recalled product does not meet explosive labelling requirements for products in pressurized containers under Canadian law. The lack of appropriate warnings symbols and warning statements for pressurized products could result in the misuse of the product, and lead to serious injury.
Neither Health Canada nor SunFX (the manufacturer) or SkinFX Inc, (the Canadian distributor) has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of the affected products.
Number sold
Approximately 234 units of the recalled cosmetic products were sold to Canadians.
Time period sold
The recalled tanning products were sold from October 2012 to October 2014 at various spa's and tanning salons across Canada.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Australia.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cosmetic.
Consumers should return the product to place of purchase to have the label corrected, or contact SkinFX by telephone at 1-855-485-9SPA (1-855-485-9772) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MST Monday through Friday, or by email, or visit the SkinFX website or the SunFX Canada website.
Alternatively, the product can be disposed of as per Municipal Hazardous Waste Guidelines. Consumers are asked to contact their municipality for instructions on disposing aerosol containers.
Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
