Silver-coloured Necklace with Flip Flop Pendant

Product description

This recall involves a flip flop-shaped pendant on a silver-coloured chain. The pendant comes in a variety of colours, and may have a crystal pendant or may be plain. The recalled necklace can be identified by UPC 722950093054.

If the flip-flop pendant has a crystal, then the crystal colour may be clear, aqua, black, blue, green, lavender, pink, red, red/white/blue stars, and red/white/blue stripes.

With plain flip-flop pendants, the pendant may be black/white, blue/white, lavender, pink, red and yellow, rose, yellow, and white/black.

Hazard identified

The flip flop pendant on the recalled necklace contains lead in excess of the allowable limit. Lead is very toxic to children even at low exposure levels. Children can ingest harmful amounts of lead when they chew, suck or swallow jewellery items containing lead.

Health Canada has not received any reports of illnesses or incidents related to the use of these necklaces.

Approximately 1,000 of the recalled necklaces were sold across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold starting in 2003.
