Product description

This recall involves a soft plastic water filled yo-yo ball toy, in the shape of the cartoon character "Shrek", with a stretchable plastic cord that has a finger grip at its end. The recalled yo-yo ball toy is yellow in colour and weighs approximately 51.5 g. The product is identified by UPC number 794080126605 and is labelled for ages 5+.

Hazard identified

Yo-yo type balls and similar products are banned in Canada because they present a hidden risk of strangulation to children. For more information on the hazard, visit Health Canada's Yo-yo Type Balls Notice.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these recalled yo-yo balls.

Number sold

The number of the recalled yo-yo ball toys distributed is not known.

Time period sold

The recalled yo-yo ball toys were distributed from October 2008 to December 2008 in the prize boxes at various Boston Pizza restaurants in Manitoba. During the same time period, the item was also distributed at the United Unlimited retail location in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
