Shimano PRO Vibe Bicycle Stem recalled due to injury hazard
Immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to an authorized Shimano dealer to determine if the stem is subject to the recall.
This recall involves Shimano PRO Vibe bicycle stems. The stems can be identified by its black coloured alloy with a prominent silver “V” branding on the faceplate of the stem. The stem has forward facing mounting bolts.
Models with bolt heads at the front of the faceplate are not subject to this recall.
The stems may form cracks and break over time causing the rider to lose control and fall, posing a risk of injury.
As of April 21, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received 2 reports of incidents and no reports of injuries.
What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to an authorized Shimano dealer to determine if the stem is subject to the recall. Recalled stems will be replaced free of charge.

The company reported that 90 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and 400 were sold in the United States.
