Product description
This recall involves all Sheenmax Realspace™ PRO 3000 Series Custom Fit Mid Back chairs. The mid-back fabric chairs were sold in black, have the SKU number 996-190, the date of manufacture and "Made in China" printed on a label located on the underside of the seat bottom.
Hazard identified
A consumer's finger can get caught in an opening in the chair's tilt mechanism, posing a pinch hazard to consumers.
The US CPSC has received 1 report from a consumer who was injured when his finger was pinched by the chair's tilt mechanism.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this desk chair.
Number sold
Approximately 425 affected units were sold at Office Depot retail stores and on-line across Canada.
Approximately 33,890 affected units were sold in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from May 2009 to June 2011 in Canada and the United States.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
