Product description
This recall involves the Convertible 3-in-1 Cribs sold with the model name "Série 8000" by Meubles Les Petits Mousses Inc. The recalled cribs were manufactured in December 2008.
The model number 8000 can be found below the head board.
Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the recalled cribs were non-compliant with Canadian requirements under the Cribs and Cradles Regulations (Hazardous Products Act). The slat spacing of these cribs presents gaps which are large enough to allow a child's legs and body to enter but are too small to allow the passage of the head: the result can be strangulation by the neck and death by asphyxiation when the body sags under the force of gravity.
Neither Meubles Les Petits Mousses Inc. nor Health Canada has received reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these cribs.

Number sold
Approximately 56 of the recalled cribs were sold directly by Meubles Les Petits Mousses Inc. or by independent children's furniture stores in Quebec only.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 2009 to April 2010.
