Product description
This recall involves model year 2016 SCOTT men’s and women's road bicycles and seatposts. The seatposts were sold in black, grey and white, with yellow, orange, green, red, or blue decals.

The affected serial numbers can be found at the serial number finder on the SCOTT Sports website. The serial number is printed on a white sticker is and embossed on the underside of the bicycle frame near the pedals.
Hazard identified
SYNCROS FL 1.0 seatposts from Model Year 2016 bicycles can break while the bicycle is in use, posing a risk of injury to the rider.
Neither Health Canada nor SCOTT Sports SA has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these products in Canada. No incidents have been reported in the United States.
Number sold
Approximately 171 of the recalled bicycles were sold in Canada, and approximately 1,400 were sold in the United States by authorized SCOTT dealers.
Time period sold
The recalled bicycles were sold in Canada and in the United States from June 2015 to March 2016.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Taiwan.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop riding the bicycle and take it to an authorized SCOTT dealer. Consumers with a recalled bicycle will receive a free replacement seatpost and have it installed at no cost.

Consumers may also contact SCOTT Sports SA by telephone at +41 264 601 900 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MET, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website.
