Affected products
This recall involves Salewa Men's and Women's Alp Trainer 2 Mid GTX hiking boots ("AT2 Boots").
The boots have a black Vibram outsole, a black sewn-in GORE-TEX label, the brand name SALEWA printed on the outside of the black toe rand, a design of triangular perforations on the suede leather upper material, and a thin silver cable attached to a bright round eyelet.
The model name "Alp Trainer 2 Mid GTX" is visible on a label sewn on the inside of the tongue.

Issue
If the recalled AT2 Boots are laced loosely or untied, unlaced at the ankle support of the boot, not laced through the eyelet, or the lace hooks are left unlaced, etc., it is possible that the lace hook on the inside of one boot can catch on the loose cable on the inside of the other boot, posing a trip-and-fall hazard.
As of January 05, 2023, the company has received one report of a trip-and-fall in Canada that resulted in fall-related injury.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled hiking boots and contact Salewa for instructions to obtain a replacement.
