Rondello and Trinello Rattles by Selecta

Product description

This recall involves 2 models of rattles sold under the brand name, Selecta: the Rondello and the Trinello.

The Rondello is a multicoloured circular wooden rattle, with large wooden beads and rings. The beads of the rattle measure approximately 7 cm in diameter. The recalled Rondello rattle can be identified by item number 1311 and UPC 4003332013119.

The Trinello can be used as both a rattle and a teething toy, and is made of wood. It is in the shape of a triangle with three larger natural coloured grooved beads, nine multicoloured smaller round beads and one larger red circular bead that can move over the smaller round beads. One of the larger beads has a bell located inside. The recalled Trinello rattle can be identified by item number 1321.

Hazard identified

Testing by Health Canada had revealed that the Rondello and Trinello rattles can pose an impaction and choking hazard to young children.

Health Canada has received one report of the Rondello rattle coming apart while in use; no injuries were reported.

Health Canada has received one report of the Trinello rattle releasing a small component; no injuries were reported.

Valley Toys has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these rattles.

Approximately 528 of the recalled rattle toys were sold across Canada.

The recalled products were sold from January 2006 to December 2008.
