Hazard identified
Strangulation can occur when a child places their neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the backside of the blind, or when a child pulls the cord out and wraps it around their neck.
Neither Sears Canada nor Health Canada have received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these roman shades.

The recalled product was sold from 2007 to April 2010.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled roman shades and contact the Window Covering Safety Council or Sears Canada for a free repair kit.
The repair kit involves removing the cords and attaching devices to manually raise and lower the shade. Consumers may also remove the cords without attaching the devices. However, the product will be inoperable and remain in the lowered position.

Consumers may also visit their nearest Sears catalogue desk locate in Sears Retail stores to obtain a free child retrofit kit.
