Product description

This recall involves roller shades by Altex Decoration Ltd. The blinds are made of fibreglass laminated with vinyl or coated PVC, and have a looped plastic or metal bead chain.

Hazard identified

It has been determined that the roller shades do not have retaining devices (tension devices) attached to the looped bead chains. If a retaining device is not attached to the wall or floor, young children may pull the bead chain around their neck, which poses a risk of strangulation.

Neither Health Canada nor Altex Decoration Ltd. has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these blinds.

For more information on the hazard, see Health Canada's information on Blind and Curtain Cords.

Number sold

Approximately 213 390 units of the recalled roller shades were sold across Canada.
