What to do

Immediately stop using the recalled teethers and return all products to Rexall for refund.

Affected products

This recall involves Rexall 2-pack Water Filled Teethers available in a variety of colours (blue, green, orange, and pink). The recalled teethers can be identified by UPC 771058114956 located on the back of the packaging.

Issue

Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, teether fillings must not contain any living micro-organisms. Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the liquid filling is contaminated with the bacteria Robertmurraya sp. These bacteria generally do not cause illness in healthy individuals. However, the bacteria can affect children with weakened immune systems, causing stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea, if the teether is punctured and the liquid filling is ingested.

As of August 12, 2022, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

What you should do
