Product description

This recall involves Restore and Rejuvenate Eye Cream, sold in 15ml (0.5 oz) and 30ml (1 oz) containers. The recalled product can be identified by UPC code 832726000169.

Hazard identified

The recalled eye cream contains high numbers of bacteria, including Myroides spp. This bacteria is known to cause infections through ingestion or open wounds, and is more likely to infect individuals with lowered immune systems.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of this product.

Number sold

Approximately 465 units of the recalled eye cream were sold at Whole Foods, Choices markets, and other retail stores in British Columbia and Ontario. The recalled product was also sold online at www.liferoot.com.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from May 2008 to May 2009.

Manufactured in British Columbia.
