Affected products

This recall involves the Quad Lock MAG Battery Pack (QMA-BPK-5000), which is a wireless portable power bank, equipped with chargeable lithium-ion batteries. The battery packs are black and measure approximately 83 mm x 60 mm x 16 mm.

Issue

The battery pack can experience overheating, melting or heat-related deformation posing a fire hazard to consumers.

As of November 1, 2024, the company has received no reports of overheating in Canada, and no reports of injuries.  In the United States, the company has received 3 reports of overheating and no reports of injuries.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Quad Lock MAG Battery Pack (QMA-BPK-5000) and contact Quad Lock. Consumers should safely dispose of the items in such a way that they cannot be used again. Contact your municipality for instructions on how to safely transport and dispose of lithium-ion batteries.  Batteries are considered hazardous waste. Do not place them in household garbage.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
