Product description
This recall involves a digital device called a Power Saver that is labelled as an "Electricity saving box". There are two models:
- Model SD-001 – grey and black in colour
- Model EPH3 – white in colour
The model number is written on the back of the product.
Hazard identified
The recalled devices have not been evaluated for safety against any Canadian standards and do not bear any recognized certification mark in Canada.
There has been one reported incident of smoke emitted from the product, with no injuries.
Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries or incidents to Canadians related to the use of this device.
Number sold
Approximately 300 of the recalled products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from August 2008 to April 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
