Playtex Pacifier Holder Clips
Product description
This recall involves the Playtex pacifier holder clips that attach a pacifier to items like clothing, diaper bags and strollers. The pacifier holders are identified by UPC number 7830005924.
The affected product is a plastic clip with a figure and a "Playtex" copyright mark secured by a ribbon with a pacifier clear plastic ring at the end. The pacifier holder was sold in green with a monkey figure, pink with a flower and blue with a tow truck.
Hazard identified
The pacifier clips can crack and a small part can break off which poses a choking hazard to small children.
Playtex has received approximately 99 reports (total) from consumers, including 43 reports from Canada, in which the pacifier holder clip was cracking or breaking. No injuries have been reported.
Health Canada has received one report of this pacifier clip breaking where a small part was liberated, with no injuries reported.
Number sold
Approximately 150,000 holders were distributed in Canada and approximately 1,250,000 in the United States at various retailers.
Time period sold
The recalled pacifier clips were sold from July 2010 through October 2013 in Canada and the United States.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

What you should do
Consumers should take the recalled pacifier holders away from infants immediately and contact Playtex for instructions on how to return the product for a full refund.
