Pirate Gold Necklace
Product description
This recall involves a necklace that has a gold-coloured pendant, in the shape of a pirate's head with two swords crossed behind the head, on a gold-coloured chain. The pirate head is approximately 4.5 cm (1.8 inches) long and 3.5 cm (1.4 inches) wide. The necklace was sold on a cardboard backing that has the words "Pirate Gold Necklace" in gold letters at the top of the card, and the words "Made in China" in small white letters on the bottom right of the card.
Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the necklace contains lead in excess of the allowable limit. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of these necklaces.

Number sold
Approximately 36 of the recalled products were sold at the San Francisco store in Londonderry Mall, Edmonton, Alberta.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from July 2008 to October 2008.
