Product description
This recall involves the phil&teds;® "metoo"™ clip-on high chair. The product is an infant/toddler chair with a nylon fabric seat and a metal frame that clamps onto tables using two metal vice clamps. The upper part of each clamp rests on the table top and has either a rubber pad on its underside or a rubber boot covering it. The chair is sold in three fabric colors: red, black and navy. Chairs subject to this recall do not have black plastic spacers between the cross bar and the clamps.

Affected chairs were sold from May 2006 and can be identified by the absence of black plastic spacers between the cross-bar and the table clamps.
Hazard identified
Missing or worn clamp pads can allow the chairs to detach from table surfaces, posing a fall hazard and injury hazard to children.
Neither Health Canada nor phil&teds;® have received any reports related to the use of these chairs in Canada.
However, in the United States, phil&teds;® and the CPSC have received 19 reports of the chairs falling from different surfaces, including five reports with injuries.
Number sold
Approximately 5,000 units of the recalled chairs were sold at specialty juvenile goods outlets and online retailers across Canada.
In the United States, approximately 54,000 units of the recalled chairs were sold.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from May 2006 in Canada and in the United States.
Place of origin

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the affected chairs and contact phil&teds;® to arrange to receive a free repair kit and revised user instructions. Consumers who previously received a repair kit with only rubber boots should also stop using the chair and contact the company for the new repair kit.
Regardless of any indication of damage, consumers are advised to register with phil&teds;® to receive a repair kit and self install instructions free of charge.
All owners of these chairs (including new and retrofitted chairs that are outfitted with the black spacers) are recommended to visit phil&teds;® to download the latest version of user instructions and to regularly visit the site for updated user instructions.
