Pelican Snow Trek Hitch
Product description
This recall involves the Utility Sled Tow Hitch by Pelican International. The hitch allows a Snow Trek sled to be connected to a snowmobile or other similar transportation device. The tow hitch pivot is black and made of metal, and measures approximately 23.5 centimetres (9.3 inches) in length and 8.3 centimetres (3.3 inches) in diameter. The hitch is used in connection with the Pelican Snow Trek Utility sled.

Hazard identified
A screw in the hitch could become loose and fall off due to vibrations when the sled is being towed by a vehicle. This can lead to the sled and hitch detaching from the towing vehicle, posing a risk of injury to users and bystanders.
Pelican International Inc. has received 10 reports of the screw coming loose with no reported injuries.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 5,600 of the recalled products were sold at Sears Canada and Costco across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from December 2006 to May 2010.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China and Canada.
