Product description
This recall involves the Garlic Slicer / Garlic Slicer Set by The Pampered Chef - Canada Corp. The garlic slicer is cylindrical in shape and can also cut chocolate baking squares, hard cheese and some nuts. The recalled products include model numbers 1113 (Slicer sold alone) and 2578 (Slicer sold with a peeler as a Set), both with UPC number 9990101113.
Hazard identified
The garlic slicer blade affixed to the bottom of the slicer can dislodge and separate, posing a potential laceration hazard to consumers.
The Pampered Chef - Canada Corp. has received 2 reports of the blade dislodging and separating from the slicer with no resulting injuries.
Health Canada has received no reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to these garlic slicers.
Number sold
Approximately 12,587 recalled garlic slicers were sold in Canada through independent consultants selling Pampered Chef products and on-line.
Time period sold
The recalled garlic slicers were sold from January 2009 to July 2011.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled garlic slicer and contact The Pampered Chef - Canada Corp. to obtain a replacement for the affected recalled product. The peeler sold with the Set is not affected by the recall and may be retained and used by consumers.
