This recall involves two different multipurpose organic cleaners that are available in various sizes and sold under the brand name "Orange aPEEL".

Hazard identified
Health Canada's auditing process has revealed that the recalled products pose aspiration hazards and subsequently do not meet the warning labelling and child-resistant closure requirements for consumer chemical products under Canadian law.
Aspiration occurs when a chemical product is ingested and then is introduced into the lungs through coughing and/or vomiting. It can result in severe adverse health effects including: pulmonary injury, chemical pneumonia and death.
Neither Orange aPEEL nor Health Canada has received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 16,275 of the recalled products were sold at Loblaws stores, Pet Valu and independent pet, and health food stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold From 2000 to November 2010.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the products and return them to the place of purchase for a replacement label and a child resistant cap. After the replacement label and/or child resistant cap is received and affixed on the product, the product can be used safely again.
Consumers who do not wish to return the products should dispose of them according to Municipal Hazarous Waste Guidelines.
