Product description
This recall involves Orangatang "In-Heat" skateboard wheels that were sold in sets of four. They were sold in two styles: 75 mm/purple/83a durometer and 75 mm/orange/80a durometer. Printed on the sidewall of the wheel are the following words: "Orangatang", "In Heat" and the wheel size.
Hazard identified
The recalled skateboard wheel's core can shear and blow out, causing the wheel to separate from the skateboard truck's axle and bearings. This poses a risk of serious injury to riders.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these wheels.
Number sold
Approximately 200 of the recalled products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from March 2009 to April 2009.
